    Product Overview

FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) pipe fuses high-strength glass fiber with corrosion-resistant resin to deliver a pressure-rated piping solution that will not rust. FRP is the umbrella material family: GRE and GRP pipe are both types of FRP pipe that use different resin systems to match different service environments. The result is a single material platform that can be tuned for seawater, sour gas, strong acids or produced water.

The operating envelope is engineered for demanding duty: continuous service up to 93.3 °C, a standard pressure range of 50–450 psi, and a 25-year lifecycle verified through ASTM D2992 testing (as stated in our design documentation). At about 80% of the weight of carbon steel — roughly one-sixth — FRP cuts crane size, support load and installation time, while the mirror-smooth liner (≤ 0.10 µm roughness) boosts flow by 12% and keeps pumping energy low.

CNPS delivers FRP as a complete system: pipe, joints, flanges and fittings engineered together. Custom diameters from 25 mm to 1200 mm, UV-resistant outer coatings and builds designed to ISO 14692 and ASTM D2996, with optional NSF/ANSI 61 potable-water compliance (engineered to, not certified).

    Why Choose FRP Pipes?

    Customer Challenges
    Customer Benefits
    Product Range / Structure
    Key Features & Benefits
    • Carbon steel corrodes in chlorides, sour gas and strong acids, forcing coatings, liners and frequent replacement
    • Heavy pipe demands large cranes, heavy supports and long, costly installation campaigns
    • Rough or scaled bores raise pumping energy and reduce flow capacity over time
    • Project teams need a pipe supplier who can size, rate and document the full system

CNPS Solution: A multi-layer resin-barrier FRP system with lightweight 20-ft factory spools, bell-and-spigot adhesive joints and a mirror-smooth bore — engineered to ISO 14692 and ASTM D2996, with custom diameters from 25 mm to 1200 mm.

    • Installed cost typically cut by 30%+ through smaller cranes and lighter supports
    • 20–30% lower head loss than steel keeps pumping energy and operating cost down
    • Crews can finish installation up to 40% faster than carbon-steel projects
    • No internal liners, no periodic recoating — a 25-year design lifecycle
    • Flow boosted by 12% via the ≤ 0.10 µm liner finish
    • Diameters: custom, 25 mm – 1200 mm
    • Pressure: standard 50 – 450 psi
    • Temperature: −60 °F to 300 °F standard; custom vinyl-ester builds to 350 °F
    • Lengths: 20-ft factory spools with bell-and-spigot adhesive jointing
    • DN250 seawater-grade model — vinyl-ester liner, 150 psi, UV-resistant (seawater intake / desalination feed)
    • DN150 acid-duty model — epoxy-novolac resin, 300 psi, resists 98% sulfuric acid, ANSI-150 flanged ends
    • DN100 high-pressure model — high-temp vinyl-ester, 450 psi, −30 °C to 150 °C, API 15HR couplings
    • Lightweight strength — Weighs about 1/6 of comparable steel yet handles up to 450 psi; smaller cranes and lighter supports cut installed cost by 30%+.
    • Total corrosion resistance — Multi-layer resin barrier resists 98% sulfuric acid, sour gas and seawater chlorides; no internal liners or periodic recoating required.
    • Ultra-smooth flow — Mirror-smooth bore holds Hazen-Williams C = 150; expect 20–30% lower head loss than steel.
    • Broad pressure and temperature window — Standard range −60 °F to 300 °F at 50–450 psi; custom vinyl-ester builds survive peaks to 350 °F.
    • Fast installation — 20-ft factory spools with bell-and-spigot adhesive joints let crews finish up to 40% faster than carbon-steel projects.
    • Designed to international standards — Engineered to ISO 14692 and ASTM D2996, with optional NSF/ANSI 61 potable-water compliance (engineered to, not certified).
    • Proven production backbone — 16 years of ISO 9001-certified FRP pipe production passing API and ASTM tests, custom prototypes in 14 days, and support hubs in the Middle East and Europe.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1
What is the difference between FRP, GRE and GRP pipe?
A: FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) is the general term. GRE and GRP pipe are both types of FRP pipe that use different resin systems — epoxy-based (GRE) or polyester/other (GRP) — to suit different service environments. Our engineers will help you select the right resin for your media.
    2
What is the continuous service temperature of CNPS FRP pipe?
    A: Up to 93.3 °C continuous, with a standard temperature range of −60 °F to 300 °F; custom vinyl-ester builds can survive peaks to 350 °F.
    3
    What pressure ratings are available?
A: The standard pressure range is 50–450 psi. Project-specific builds are available — for example the DN100 high-pressure model rated 450 psi with API 15HR couplings.
    4
Does FRP pipe need coatings or cathodic protection?
A: No. The multi-layer resin barrier provides total corrosion resistance to 98% sulfuric acid, sour gas and seawater chlorides — no internal liners or periodic recoating required.
