    Product Overview

API 15LR line pipe is low-pressure GRP piping manufactured by winding: glass fiber as reinforcement with a thermosetting resin matrix — unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) or epoxy — as the base material. The design basis follows API Spec 15LR-2001 (Specification for Low Pressure Fiberglass Line Pipe and Fittings), with reference to SY/T 6266-2004 and JC/T 552-2011.

The production scope covers diameters from DN50 to DN2000 at pressure ratings of 0 to 6.9 MPa, and the line can be designed and produced according to customer demands. Like the wider glass-fiber family, it delivers corrosion resistance, long service life, light weight and a bore that does not readily scale or wax.

Why Choose API 15LR GRE Pipes?

    Customer Challenges
    Customer Benefits
    Product Range / Structure
    Key Features & Benefits
    • Large-diameter water, brine and utility lines corrode and scale in steel
    • Heavy steel pipe in large diameters is costly to transport and install
    • Municipal and water-conservancy projects need long-life, low-maintenance networks

CNPS Solution: Large-diameter low-pressure GRP line pipe designed to API Spec 15LR-2001 — corrosion-resistant, lightweight and scale/wax-free, produced to customer-specific diameter and rating.

    • DN50 – DN2000 covers distribution and conveyance networks
    • Pressure ratings 0 – 6.9 MPa matched to low-pressure service
    • Corrosion resistance and long service life
    • No easy scaling or waxing keeps flow stable
    • Light weight simplifies logistics and installation
    • Designs and production tailored to customer demands
    • Diameters: DN50 – DN2000
    • Pressure rating: 0 – 6.9 MPa
    • Resin systems: unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) or epoxy resin
    • Manufacture: filament winding (glass fiber + thermosetting resin)
    • Design basis: API Spec 15LR-2001; SY/T 6266-2004; JC/T 552-2011
    • Custom designs and production per customer demands
    • Large-diameter coverage — DN50 to DN2000 for distribution and conveyance duty.
    • Low-pressure economics — Rated 0–6.9 MPa, matching the cost profile of municipal and utility networks.
    • Corrosion resistance — Glass-fiber/thermosetting-resin construction resists corrosive media without coatings.
    • Long service life — Designed for decades of low-maintenance operation.
    • Light weight — Easier transport, rigging and installation than steel of the same diameter.
    • Scale/wax-free bore — Stable flow with less cleaning and intervention.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1
What is the difference between API 15LR and API 15HR pipe?
A: API 15LR covers low-pressure fiberglass line pipe and fittings (our GRP line: DN50–DN2000, 0–6.9 MPa), while API 15HR covers high-pressure glass-fiber line pipe (our GRE line: DN40–DN900, 3.45–34.5 MPa).
    2
    Which resin systems are used?
A: Unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) or epoxy resin, depending on service. Select the system with our engineers based on your media.
    3
Can you produce diameters outside the standard range or special ratings?
A: The line can be designed and produced according to customer demands — share your specification and we'll confirm the build.
