    Product Overview

API 15HR GRE line pipe is high-pressure glass-fiber line pipe: glass-fiber roving as reinforcement wound in an epoxy-resin matrix. The design basis follows API Spec 15HR-2016 (High Pressure Glass Fiber Piping Specification) with reference to SY/T 6267-2006, and the production scope covers diameters from DN40 to DN900 at pressure ratings of 3.45 MPa to 34.5 MPa.

Two resin platforms are offered: acid anhydride GRE, for medium temperatures up to 65.5 °C, and amine epoxy GRE, for medium temperatures up to 93.3 °C. Both share documented physical properties — density 1.95 g/cm³, thermal conductivity 0.40 W/m·°C and Hazen-Williams C = 150 — keeping design data consistent across the line.

Beyond line pipe, the API 15HR family extends downhole: GRE tubing (DN40–DN100, 10–25 MPa), GRE casing (DN100–DN250, 10–25 MPa) and stratified water-injection tubing (1.6″–4″, 10–25 MPa). Products are not limited to listed sizes and can be designed and manufactured to customer requirements.

Why Choose API 15HR GRE Pipes?

    Customer Challenges
    Customer Benefits
    Product Range / Structure
    Key Features & Benefits
    • High-pressure water and CO₂/H₂S service corrodes and scales steel line pipe and tubulars
    • Repeated well interventions to clear scale and wax raise operating cost
    • Heavy steel strings complicate rig logistics and lift cost
    • Downhole corrosion shortens string life in injection and production wells

CNPS Solution: A high-pressure GRE platform designed to API Spec 15HR-2016 — corrosion-resistant, lightweight, scale-proof and wax-proof line pipe, tubing, casing and injection strings — with one-piece or API 5B EUE threaded/coupling-connected joints.

    • Pressure ratings from 3.45 MPa to 34.5 MPa across DN40–DN900
    • Resin selection matched to temperature: acid anhydride ≤ 65.5 °C, amine epoxy ≤ 93.3 °C
    • Corrosion resistance, light weight and long service life
    • No easy scaling or waxing keeps flow stable and interventions down
    • Full downhole range: tubing, casing and stratified injection strings
    • Non-listed sizes designed and manufactured to customer requirements
    • Line pipe: DN40 – DN900; 3.45 – 34.5 MPa
    • GRE tubing (downhole): DN40 – DN100; 10 – 25 MPa
    • GRE casing: DN100 – DN250; 10 – 25 MPa
    • Stratified water-injection tubing: 1.6″ – 4″; 10 – 25 MPa
    • Joints: one-piece joints standard; coupling connection (JG) where identified; API 5B EUE = external thickened long round threads per API 5B
    • Resin systems: acid anhydride GRE (≤ 65.5 °C); amine epoxy GRE (≤ 93.3 °C)
    • High-pressure design — Line pipe rated 3.45–34.5 MPa with a documented physical-property data set (density 1.95 g/cm³, C = 150).
    • Corrosion resistance — Glass-fiber/epoxy construction resists corrosive media; light weight and long service life reduce operating cost.
    • Scale- and wax-proof bore — Smooth internal surface keeps flow stable and cuts intervention frequency.
    • Downhole range — GRE tubing, casing and stratified injection strings from DN40 to DN250 at 10–25 MPa.
    • Temperature-matched resins — Acid anhydride GRE to 65.5 °C; amine epoxy GRE to 93.3 °C.
    • Proven connections — One-piece joints with API 5B EUE threaded options and coupling connections where identified; high-strength wear threads for easy make-up and break-out.
    • Custom scope — Products not limited to listed sizes; designed and manufactured per customer requirements.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1
    What does API 15HR mean?
A: API Spec 15HR is the American Petroleum Institute specification for high-pressure glass-fiber line pipe. Our API 15HR GRE line is designed on this basis, with reference to SY/T 6267-2006.
    2
Which resin system should I choose?
A: Acid anhydride GRE suits medium temperatures up to 65.5 °C; amine epoxy GRE suits medium temperatures up to 93.3 °C. Selection depends on your media temperature profile.
    3
    What connections are available?
A: One-piece joint is standard; coupling connection (JG) is used where identified. API 5B EUE (external thickened long round threads per API 5B) threaded options provide easy make-up and break-out, and injection strings are reusable.
    4
Can you supply sizes outside the standard range?
A: Yes. Products are not limited to the listed sizes — DN40–DN900 line pipe, DN40–DN100 tubing and DN100–DN250 casing — and can be designed and manufactured to customer requirements.
